What Stamping Materials Are Qualified for Precision Stamping Parts

Precision stamping parts are manufactured through a series of stamping processes such as stamping, extrusion, rolling, welding, and cutting, which are difficult to manufacture. In order to meet production requirements and achieve a good forming effect of stamping products, there are higher requirements for stamping materials of precision stamping parts. So what stamping materials are qualified for precision stamping parts?

Ⅰ. The stamping performance is required for precision stamping parts

  • Stamping materials should be conducive to obtaining high-quality and high-precision stamping parts, which is convenient for production and processing.

  • The maximum deformation and the total maximum deformation of stamping materials should be large enough to facilitate production efficiency.

  • The stamping material should have lower roughness to avoid friction with sophisticated mould and should not generate wastes to facilitate output.


Ⅱ. The process requirements that the stamping materials of precision stamping parts should meet

  • The thickness tolerance of stamping materials should comply with national standards.

Different mould gaps are suitable for materials with different thicknesses. If the thickness tolerance of the material is too large, it will not only directly affect the quality of the stamping parts, but also may cause damage to the mould or press.

  •  Stamping material has high surface quality

The surface of the stamping material is clean and smooth, free of defects such as oxide scale, cracks, rust spots, scratche s, and delamination. The material with good surface condition is not easy to break during processing, and it is not easy to scratch the mold, and the surface quality of the obtained stamping parts should also be good.

  • Stamping materials should have good plasticity

Stamping materials should have higher elongation and reduction of area, lower yield and higher tensile strength, higher plasticity, and greater degree of deformation. It is conducive to the stability of the stamping process and the uniformity of deformation, and improves the forming dimensional accuracy of precision stamping parts.

  • Stamping materials should have good adaptability for mechanical joining and further processing (such as welding, polishing), and should not damage mechanical equipment.

The stamping materials of precision stamping parts are related to the performance and quality of stamping parts. The selection of stamping materials needs to meet the above relevant conditions and production requirements.
